How Does Nitrolingual Spray Work?

Angina is a medical condition in which the heart does not pump enough blood around the body due to narrowed or blocked arteries. As a result, the heart muscles receive less oxygen and blood, which makes them unable to making function properly. The Nitrolingual spray belongs to a class of drugs known as nitrates that are vasodilators, meaning they relax and widen blood vessels. As a result, the heart can pump more blood easily to the heart muscles, thus reducing strain and heart-related chest pain.

Directions

  • The Nitrolingual spray should only be used by individuals over the age of 18 and should be sprayed directly under the tongue.
  • Take this medicine exactly as directed by your doctor.
  • When you sense an angina attack beginning sit down because you might become lightheaded after using the spray.
  • Remove the plastic cover and DO NOT SHAKE.
  • Hold the container upright, open your mouth and bring the container as close to it as possible, press the button firmly to release the spray onto or under the tongue.
  • Do not inhale the spray, instead, Release the button and close your mouth.
  • Avoid swallowing immediately after administering.

Ingredients

  • Glyceryl trinitrate is the active ingredient
  • Inactive ingredients include tetrafluoroethane, peppermint oil, ethanol, among others.

Side Effects
