What Is Noriday?
Noriday is a contraceptive pill used to prevent pregnancy. It only has progesterone as opposed to combined contraceptive pills that have both progesterone and oestrogen. As a result, Noriday is recommended for women who can’t take pills that have oestrogen in them. Noriday is highly effective as it has over 99% chance of success. However, it does not protect you from Sexually Transmitted Infections. This means that you still need to use a condom to be protected from STIs.
How it Works
Pregnancy requires both an egg and a sperm. These eggs are released from a woman’s ovary after which it is fertilized by a male sperm. Noriday works by thickening a woman’s cervical mucus, making it hard for sperms to penetrate into the womb. This means that these sperms are unable to reach the eggs and fertilize them. This pill also helps to prevent ovulation even though it is not as effective at this when compared to combined contraceptive pills.

Noriday might not be the best choice if you are:
- Allergic to any Noriday ingredient
- Have swollen veins
- Have a history of liver disease or stroke
- Struggle with blood clots
- Have issues with your heart or high blood pressure
- Have unusual vaginal bleeding
- Have battled with cancer of the breast, cervix, uterus, or vagina
- Have lipids in your blood
- Are pregnant and suffer from Jaundice or Pruritus
- Have an ectopic pregnancy
- Suffering from diabetes
There are many other conditions that make it hard for you to use this pill. These include epilepsy, otosclerosis, tetany, asthma, kidney disease, multiple sclerosis, migrains, and porphyria. Seek medical advice to see if this pill can still work for you or if you can get a better alternative.
