What Is Amorolfine, and What Is It Used For?

Amorolfine is the generic equivalent to branded Loceryl and Curanail. It is an effective and affordable treatment against fungal nail infections. Fungus usually penetrates the nail and may infect the surrounding area.  Amorolfine contains the active ingredient amorolfine, a drug that treats nail fungal infections. If you are suffering from athlete's foot, you should treat it to prevent reinfection after completing treatment with Amorolfine.  Use the therapy regularly, after a shower to ensure it is effective against itchy feet.

Description

How Does Amorolfine Work?

A chemical in fungus called ergosterol causes nail infections. Amorolfine works by stopping the production of ergosterol.  Without the chemical, the fungus stops growing, and its cells break down.  The nail continues to grow, removing the infectious part until it becomes healthy.

Amorolfine is unsuitable for you if you meet any of the following conditions:
    • Have extremely damaged nails.
    • Are a pregnant or breastfeeding mother.
    • Are under the age of 18 years.
    • You suffer from diabetes.
    • You have poor blood circulation in your hands or foot.
  • You have an underactive immune system.

Directions for Use

Amorolfine 5% Nail Solution should be applied to each infected nail once or twice weekly.
  • Using a new file, gently file down the infected areas, including the nail surface.
  • Clean the nail surface and surrounding area to remove any funny smell.
  • Dip one of the re-usable applicators into the bottle of Amorolfine nail lacquer. Apply the nail lacquer evenly over the entire surface of the nail. Allow it to dry for 3 minutes.
  • You can use the applicators provided more than once, but you must clean it thoroughly.

Amorolfine Nail Lacquer Ingredients

Amorolfine 5% Nail Lacquer contains the active ingredient: Amorolfine (50mg per 1mL nail lacquer). It also contains the inactive ingredients: Ethanol anhydrous, Ammonia, Methacrylate Copolymer (type A), Ethyl acetate, Butyl acetate, and Triacetin.

The common side effect of Amorolfine include:
  • A burning sensation on the area you have applied, either hand or foot.
  • Itchiness.
