Description

What is Bactroban 2% Ointment?

Bactroban is an antibiotic medication that is approved by the Food and Drug Administration for the prevention of bacterial growth on the skin. It can be used to treat different types of skin infections.

How Does Bactroban Work?

The skin is the largest organ in the body that protects other organs from danger, infections, and uncomfortable environmental temperature changes. However, the skin can sometimes get infected with mild, or serious life-threatening infections. Bacterial skin infections develop when the germs enter the body through wounds, blisters or weakened hair follicles. The infections can then display different symptoms depending on a person’s age, the type of bacteria or even where it is located in the body. Bactroban works by stopping the growth of these bacteria, inhibiting their ability to reproduce, killing them and relieving the body of any symptoms.
