How Does Betnovate Cream Work?

Betnovate contains the active ingredient betamethasone, which is a corticosteroid that helps to reduce inflammation and itchiness. When the body releases inflammatory chemicals in response to an irritant or allergen, the skin becomes inflamed. Blood vessels also grow wider as a result of these substances, causing the skin to puff and become itchy and painful. Corticosteroids block inflammation by preventing cells from manufacturing large amounts of these chemicals. This reduces the symptoms caused by various skin conditions.

Warnings

  • You must not dress the area under treatment with a bandage or clothing unless instructed by your doctor.

Directions

  • You must follow the directions given by your doctor when using Betnovate cream.
  • If you are self-medicating, you must read and follow the instructions provided on the prescription label.
  • Wash your hands and dry them thoroughly before and after using Betnovate cream.
  • Apply a thin layer of the medication evenly on the affected area, spread it and rub gently.
  • Keep rubbing until the medication clears. You must not rinse it off immediately for optimum results.
  • It is important to use Betnovate RD Cream regularly, even if you are feeling better, to keep the rash under control.
  • If you forget to use Betnovate RD Cream, use it as soon as you remember and then go back to using it regularly.

Ingredients

  • The active ingredient in Betnovate cream is betamethasone. The inactive ingredients are chlorocresol, sodium acid phosphate, cetomacrogol, white soft paraffin, cetostearyl alcohol, liquid paraffin, sodium hydroxide, phosphoric acid, and purified water.
