Metronidazole 400mg tablets are antibiotics. Bacterial vaginosis is known to cause a change in the natural balance of bacteria living in the vagina. It is important to take all of the Metronidazole 400mg. It does this by stopping the production of DNA and proteins which are essential for the bacteria to survive. Metronidazole 400mg Tablets also stop the bacteria from multiplying, so they are unable to infect more cells. This means that the infection can be cleared up and does not have a chance to spread. Tablets prescribed, even if you start feeling better, to ensure that the infection is completely cured. If you stop taking the medication before it is gone, the infection may reoccur. Metronidazole 400mg Tablets can also be used to prevent infections after certain gynaecological procedures.

  • The usual dosage for adults is one tablet twice per day for seven days. Swallow the tablet whole without crushing or chewing.
