What is Xyloproct Ointment?

Xyloproct ointment is a medication used to treat haemorrhoids. It is a combination of two active ingredients, hydrocortisone and lidocaine. Hydrocortisone is a corticosteroid that reduces inflammation, while lidocaine is a numbing agent that helps to relieve pain. Xyloproct ointment comes in a cream or an ointment form and is typically applied to the affected area two or three times a day.

How Does Xyloproct Ointment Work?

Xyloproct contains an astringent and a local anaesthetic, which work together to shrink the haemorrhoids and relieve pain. The astringent ingredient helps to constrict the blood vessels, while the anaesthetic numbs the area and reduces inflammation. This combination of ingredients helps to provide relief from symptoms quickly and effectively. Xyloproct ointment can be used both internally and externally, depending on the severity of your haemorrhoids. If you are experiencing severe symptoms, your doctor may recommend using it internally as well as externally.
